Reviews: NHM003: Irritate/Hated Principles: split 7"
Automatic... oh wait, this is Irritate not Incriminated (which has members of Irritate). Well it still gets a gold star and scratch-n-sniff root beer sticker cuz I swear up and down these lot are to grindrock/deathdoom wot the Buzzcocks were to poppunk (OUTSTANDING!). The vocals have always melted my brain (they´re pretty fuckin´ gnarly) and the production has always been top notch. So just as I started to say , automatic A-. Hated Principles have been going at it in a variety of line ups and styles since 1983, and the consistency that has remained in their mood still shines through here (albeit I´m feeling an ANTISEEN kinda thing over their previous speedier, punkier, fastcore attempts). Piss raw 4-track production that may have been hampered with a mastering problem as I know for a fact that frontman Katz never lets his sound slide. Ever. My brows were raised at the outrageously punk art chosen for each side. Ah yes, robots and record sleeves... the power of heavy metal... the insanity of punk. (Se@n) |
